Chef Tianna Feaster with Butternut Squash!
Tianna Feaster is the owner & Executive Chef of Feast Your Eyes on This, LLC a personal chef service serving the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. She thrives on creating alternative, healthy, and savory dishes for her clientele, which includes individuals, small parties, and social gatherings.
Tianna has always loved to cook. When her parents were at work, she would often grab ingredients to create delightful and tasty dishes. During one summer vacation when Tianna was in the 5th grade and at the disapproval of her parents, she went through her parents’ freezer, grabbed a couple filet minions, marinated & broiled them to perfection for her and her
friends to eat. Tianna’s curiosity and the joy of making food for her friends as a child would soon lay the path to a fruitful career as a professional chef.
As Tianna became an adult she continued to prepare meals for her friends and office colleagues
She would often be amazed how food brings smiles to people’s faces and how it can be the centerpiece of discussion in parties and gatherings. As a result, she was excited and eager to learn more about different types of food and dishes.
Tianna’s mission to educate and empower others began at Towson University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. After college, Tianna moved back home to become an elementary school teacher where she taught for two years. Tianna still had a desire to explore her creative side and completed her Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Systems Design. This new career path further ignited her desire to use her creativity with food. After work hours, she continued to explore and blend various ingredients to make delectable dishes for her family and friends during holiday parties and social gatherings. She then realized that she still had a strong burning desire to become a professional chef.
In 2004, Tianna answered her desire to become a professional chef and enrolled in Stratford University’s culinary program. During this time, she served as an intern at Waterford Banquet Hall and Receptions where she continued to enhance and hone her cooking skills. Two years later, in June 2006, Chef Tianna Feaster earned her Advanced Culinary Arts Professional Certificate
from Stratford University. In addition to earning her diploma, Chef Feaster is an active member of the America Professional Chef Association. She also attended several cooking classes at two local schools, L’Academie de Cuisine and Sur La Table.
Tianna believes that food should not only enliven your taste buds and fill your stomach, but it should also provide nutritional value and be beneficial to your health and lifestyle. She strives and makes a conscious effort to make dishes that will provide nourishment for your body as well as satisfy your appetite.
Feast Your Eyes on This caters to those who work chaotic schedules and have demanding lives. Many of her clients want a healthy, satisfying meal not only for themselves, but for their families after coming home from a long day’s work. When they return home, they often do not want to cook and will microwavable, unhealthy, pre-packaged meals from the grocery store. Feast Your Eyes on This! strives to be a solution to this problem by providing nutritious, delectable meals. Another important mission of Feast Your Eyes on This is to bring families back to the dinner table and allow people to enjoy time with their families & friends whether it is in a home or social setting.
Chef Tianna has been featured in Essence magazine’s April, 2008 issue discussing her personal chef business and how food as a key to good living. Chef Tianna was also featured on the NBC Today show in April of 2008 showcasing how culinary skills can be used as a way for women to supplement their income. Chef Tianna is a monthly-featured chef on CBS affiliate WUSA Channel 9 in Washington, DC. Chef Tianna also brought her message of healthy living to local festivals and youth groups throughout the east-coast. In addition, she became an Essence.com blogger in 2009 with her weekly blogs titled “Tianna’s Tasty Tips”.
Chef Tianna wants to help remove the stress associated with preparing meals & help families reclaim meal time as “their time” – a time to catch up, share, & fellowship together. Tianna’s ultimate goal is to combine her passion for food and love for teaching to educate others on the joy of eating their way to a healthy lifestyle with recipes that are healthy yet always delicious. Her services include consultations & assessments, menu planning, proper grocery shopping, and in-home meal preparation/cooking demonstrations.
Chef Tianna believes that you should “Love what you do and do what you love”. This is her love, and she loves doing it!
