It may seem simple, but preparing for a garage sale takes a lot of work, and you'll also want to make sure people are aware of your sale and can find their way to your home.
Use the following tips to help minimize the stress and maximize the fun of your next garage sale:
- Multi-family sales tend to attract more traffic, so reach out to your neighbors and see if they are interested in having a sale the same day as yours. Once the plans are in place, be sure to check and see if your town requires a permit to hold a garage sale, and if so, get one.
- Set aside plenty of time to organize and price the items you are selling. Set realistic prices that will appeal to a bargain hunter, and arrange items by type to make it easier for shoppers to find what they are looking for.
- Advertise your sale, and use signs and balloons to direct traffic to your home.
