ICC 5K Run/Walk/Bike to Benefit Special Olympics Maryland

October 23, 2011 - Register at 8 a.m., Run/Bike begins at 9 a.m.
Online registration for the 5K walk/run and the 10mile Family Bike Ride is now CLOSED. You may still register at the packet pick-up locations or on-site on Sunday.

Participate in the ICC 5K Run/Walk/Bike and take advantage of the opportunity to see the nearly-completed second segment of the ICC by foot before it opens to traffic! A $30 donation pre-registers you for the 5K or a 10 mile bike ride; however, additional fundraising is encouraged to show your support of the thousands of Special Olympics Maryland athletes who will benefit from the event. Families are welcome and encouraged to join in this worthwhile event.

Registration & Packet Pickup:
5K Walk/Run:
$25.00 pre-registration / $20 for children 12 and under
$30.00 on race day / $25 for children 12 and under

10M Family Bike:
$25.00 pre-registration / $12 for children 12 and under
$30.00 on race day / $15 for children 12 and under

On-line registration is now closed.

Packet pick-up will be available:
Friday, Oct. 21 - Potomac River Running, Rockville store, 3 to 7 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 22 - ICC Project Management Office, Beltsville, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday, October 23 at the event site from 8 to 9 a.m.

Awards will be presented to the top three male, top three female, and top three participants under 18. Police and emergency vehicles also will be on display from the MDTA Police and local emergency responders.

The start and finish line for the bike ride and 5K will be located on the ICC roadway between the ICC bridge over Good Hope and the ICC bridge over Gum Springs and Paint Branch. The 5-mile turnaround point for bicyclists will be just prior to the Norbeck Road bridge over the ICC, while the 1.55-mile turnaround point for the walkers and runners will be just east of the Notley Road bridge over the ICC.
