5 Questions To Consider Before Buying a New Home in Maryland

Questions To Consider Before Buying a New Home in Maryland

If you are considering buying a New Home in Maryland, you should know that it is in your best interest to have a Buyer's Agent represent you in the purchase.  Although, the agent's commission is paid by the builder, a Buyer's Agent will negotiate on your behalf and help you determine what choices are best for you.  Your Buyer's Agent will oversee all contract agreements and advise you before you make any wrong decisions.

  1. What are your choices in New Homes located in the Maryland?
New constructed homes are available in all price ranges and styles in a variety of neighborhoods and locations.  New home builders will not share information about other builders and choices available to you. Their goal is to sell you on their development only and eliminate any competition.  Your Buyer's Agent will educate you about all the choices you have that meets your criteria in price and selection.
  2. What are your Options in a New Home?
New Homesin Maryland give you choices in floor plans, plus options like counter tops, appliances, colors, storage systems, flooring and technology upgrades.  Your agent can help you determine which choices match your lifestyle without selling you just to increase the sales price of the home.
  3. Is the New Home Energy Efficient?
Most New Homes are designed with the most energy efficient systems in place.
  4. What will be required from you for Maintenance in your New Home?
New homes can be designed with state-of-the-art building technologies that may require less maintenance for you in the long run.  You should ask the right questions to determine what maintenance will be required in your New Home.
  5. What are your financing options when purchasing a New Home?
Although many builders offer financing with low rates, your Buyer's Agent can help you be aware of any hidden charges and decide what other financing options are available to you.

Now is the Time to Plant Bulbs for Spring Blooms!

I know it's hard to think about springtime when we're enjoying the beauty of the fall season, but this is the best time to get your bulbs planted for spring blooming.

Here are easy steps to planting bulbs in Fall for Spring Blooms!

Now is the time to plant bulbs such as daffodils, tulips and hyacinths for spring flowers.  Below I will give you easy steps for planting to ensure you get the best color in spring in your garden.

Things you need:

  • Bulb Planters
  • Fertilizer
  • Garden Hose
  • Spring-flowering Bulbs
  1. Purchase bulbs of your choice that are appropriate for spring blooms.
  2. Improve your soil if necessary, by incorporating organic matter. Make sure drainage is good and plant in a sunny location.
  3. With a shovel or trowel, dig holes the appropriate depth for your bulb type. Consult packaging for correct depth.. A depth of two to three times the width of the bulb is a good rule of thumb.
  4. Add bulb fertilizer to the bottom of the hole and roughly mix it into the soil.
  5. Place the bulb in the hole. Make sure you have the right side up (usually point up, roots down).
The bottom of the bulb should rest firmly on the bottom of the hole.
  6. Refill the planting hole, tapping the soil lightly.
  7. Water the bulbs thoroughly.
