There are So Many Reasons Why I love being a Realtor - Here are just 5 of them . . .

There are So Many Reasons Why I love being a Realtor - Here are just 5 of them . . .

1.      Meet interesting people from all over the world

While working with both buyers and sellers especially in the Maryland (Washington DC Metro area), it's enjoyable to meet new people from all over the world and learn about their lives, cultures and work.  I try to listen very carefully to focus on what they prefer in a home. I want to determine what they need and expect from me and how I can serve them best.  Whether it's being part of their first home purchase or assisting a client sell their home and move up to their dream home or retirement living community, I offer direction and advice based on their needs and objectives.

2.      Constant opportunities to learn and grow

When I first got into the business of real estate, my manager told me that every deal was different.  Although I did not understand his comment initially, I soon learned through each transaction that there is always a new challenge or obstacle to overcome on the way to settlement.  The real estate business and markets are always changing and each offers an opportunity to learn.  It you are a person who thrives on stimulation, this is the career for you.

3.      Delayed Gratification

Good realtors are very hard working professionals and learning to work with delayed gratification is required since it may take many months before going to settlement.

4.      Get to see how other people live

For those of us who enjoy home and garden design and are interested in seeing how others live, a realtor has the opportunity to see inside many homes.  Of course, hopefully those homes are prepared for sale and are showing at their very best.

5.      Get to help people at a time when they are making a very important decision

I used to wonder if being a realtor was a superficial career, but I have learned that there are many opportunities to genuinely help people in their time of most vulnerability.  They need the help of an honest, knowledgeable, helpful realtor who will guide them every step of the way to buying or selling a home. I have committed to make this my mission to benefit all those I serve.

We realtors are also dependant on each other to get a home sale to settlement.  Being cooperative and engaged in the process makes for a transaction that is a pleasure to work on and helps create a smoother process for all involved.

What are my rights when presenting an offer from my buyer to a listing agent?

What are my rights when presenting an offer on behalf of my buyer to a listing agent?

Here's the scenerio ...

I presented an offer on behalf of my client to purchase a home.  I asked the listing agent whether there were any other offers for the property. I was informed that there was another offer.  I asked if the other offer was written on behalf of a buyer by the listing agent.  He said he did not have to disclose that information.

Question ...

Do I have the right to be informed whether the second offer was written by the listing agent?
