It's amazing what we can do if we make up our minds that we want to make a difference in the lives of others.  I like to think that being a Realtor is a calling to help others in their home search as well as a career.  

Becoming involved in Community Service is another way to contribute to improve the quality of life for others.  Community service can also offer you an opportunity to network and become more involved with many different people.

Here are some tips for volunteering:

Find an area to serve

The best place to start is choose an area of service that has personal meaning for your or someone you love. You may be interested in working with the poor or children.

Determine the amount of time you have to contribute

You can start out small and still make a difference. It's more important to be consistent and honor your commitment.

Investigate charities

Make sure the charity you volunteer with is spending only a small percentage of their donations on overhead

Look for opportunities through Realtor Associations

Your own Realtor association has organized volunteer efforts that will welcome your support.
