Annual Sandy Spring VFD Fire Safety Open House!
Sunday, October 2, 2011 -- 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The free events, with activities designed for all ages, will take place at Station 40 located at 16911 Georgia Avenue, Olney, MD. Bring the family, enjoy all there is to see at your local fire station. Static displays of Fire Engines, Ambulances, Rescue Boats, a Ladder Truck and more!
Meet our Firefighters, EMTs, and Paramedics. Practice Stop-Drop And Roll, Call 9-1-1 on our simulator, Crawl through the Fire Safety House, and the Smokey Hose Maze.
See a Puppet Show, Meet Hector the Fire Safety Clown, Squirt water at “flames” from our brush truck, and watch firefighters rip apart a car with the “Jaws of Life” in our Auto Extrication Demonstration!
There’s plenty for all ages! Parents: have your blood pressure screened, have your children fingerprinted, then head to the Auxiliary’s Farmer’s Market for a bite to eat. Then get ready… and See the Med-Evac. Helicopter* from Children’s Hospital! Plus Much, Much More!!!
