Your Reputation Precedes You

We spend years, even our whole lives, building a reputation. However, your reputation can easily be tarnished in a moment's notice.
As we are all aware, the internet has allowed many of us to have access to much more information about individuals than they probably want us to know. Establishing and maintaining a positive personal and corporate reputation matters now more than ever before. We must constantly strive to build, enhance, maintain and defend our reputation in all areas of our lives.
As a real estate agent, the impression of my reputation most often precedes me. In order to continue to build my business, my reputation must speak for itself. Many things-brand, public viewpoint, customer relations, image and quality of service-affect a realtor's reputation.

Ask yourself the following questions:
- Image: How well known is your name known with your target market?
- Loyalty: How attached are clients to you? Have they recommended you to others?
- Quality: Are your clients satisfied with the level of service you provide? What is most important to your client?
Stay aware of the lasting impression you make while working with customers and clients. Sometimes your reputation shows up well ahead of that first face-to-face meeting.

Good reminders! The world seems a tad more complicated these days in good and bad ways!
A "HANDY" reminder! Thanks for the post, very thoughtful!

Reputation is everything! We are very careful in everything we do to make sure we keep ours shiny! Even when the customer is flat out wrong... it's their perception that matters... right? I find I have made concessions for clients just to make sure everyone feels good about us at the end of the day! Great post!
Barbara, this is something that just cannot be repeated too often. A lot of the time, your client will get an offer accepted, or not, because of the agent who is representing him.
Yes, I'm with Patricia.. this cannot be said too much.. say it again... your reputation preceeds you.. and me... and ... everyone else.
Barbara,
A person is only as good as his or her word! Your reputation means everything!
And you can loose it all in a moment if you don't guard it carefully. Too bad more peope aren't on guard instead of just spewing all over the interent.
Thanks for the reminder.
