Now is the Time to Plant Bulbs for Spring Blooms!

I know it's hard to think about springtime when we're enjoying the beauty of the fall season, but this is the best time to get your bulbs planted for spring blooming.

Here are easy steps to planting bulbs in Fall for Spring Blooms!

Now is the time to plant bulbs such as daffodils, tulips and hyacinths for spring flowers.  Below I will give you easy steps for planting to ensure you get the best color in spring in your garden.

Things you need:

  • Bulb Planters
  • Fertilizer
  • Garden Hose
  • Spring-flowering Bulbs
  1. Purchase bulbs of your choice that are appropriate for spring blooms.
  2. Improve your soil if necessary, by incorporating organic matter. Make sure drainage is good and plant in a sunny location.
  3. With a shovel or trowel, dig holes the appropriate depth for your bulb type. Consult packaging for correct depth.. A depth of two to three times the width of the bulb is a good rule of thumb.
  4. Add bulb fertilizer to the bottom of the hole and roughly mix it into the soil.
  5. Place the bulb in the hole. Make sure you have the right side up (usually point up, roots down).
The bottom of the bulb should rest firmly on the bottom of the hole.
  6. Refill the planting hole, tapping the soil lightly.
  7. Water the bulbs thoroughly.

This is such an easy way to spice up curb appeal - and affordable too!  Great advice for those home sellers thinking about selling in the spring!

My challenge is to try to find more places where they would be appropriate.  Good info for those planning to plant
