Brookside Gardens is Montgomery County's incomparable, award-winning 50-acre public display garden situated within Wheaton Regional Park. Included in the gardens are several distinct areas: Aquatic Garden, Azalea Garden, Butterfly Garden, Children's Garden, Rose Garden, Japanese Style Garden, Trial Garden, Rain Garden and the Woodland Walk. The Formal Gardens areas include a Perennial Garden, Yew Garden, the Maple Terrace, and Fragrance Garden. Brookside Gardens also feature two conservatories for year-round enjoyment. A horticultural reference library is located in the airy Visitors Center. Admission is free.

Earth Day Festival, Sunday April 17
Vendors are invited to apply to participate in an Earth Day Festival "Green Craft Fair" 12noon- 4:00pm!

NOTE: Brookside Gardens follows Montgomery County Government for weather related closures and delays. If Montgomery County Government is closed, Brookside Gardens is closed. Information is also posted on our facebook page below right, or at www.MontgomeryParks.org

NOTE: Pets are not allowed in Brookside Gardens. Service animals are welcome. For more details on our rules and regulations, please see the Garden Etiquette section of their web site.

Brookside Gardens' vehicle entrances feature deer exclusion grates, which also preclude pedestrians from crossing. All pedestrians should plan to enter the Gardens through the pedestrian entrances. The Visitors Center pedestrian entrance is located on Glenallan Avenue to the left of the vehicle entrance as you enter. The Conservatory pedestrian entrance is located to the right of the vehicle entrance as you enter. Please do not attempt to cross the deer exclusion grates on foot, as this could result in injury.

Barbara, you sure are planning ahead.  Brookside Gardens looks beautiful and on 50 acres, I'm sure there is something for everyone.  Hope Earth Day will bring an appreciative crowd into the gardens!

That sure sounds and looks like a great event to attend for Earth Day and I am sure there will plenty of beautiful flowers and plants to see in a 50-acre garden!   :)
